Sunday 25 February - New physio joins club

Gary McCann announced in yesterday's programme that the club has appointed a new physio in Mark Findlay. Mark's first game was at Slough Town last weekend and he has come highly recommended from one of our former physio's, current AFC Wimbledon physio Mike Rayner. Mark's background is of a high standard and we hope his stay with us is a lengthy but not too busy one. Mark replaces Duncan Holmes who left the club a few weeks ago.

Saturday 24 February - Robins win goal feast

It was a thoroughly entertaining game this afternoon at Claremont Road that saw Carshalton Athletic eventually run out 5-3 winners over Hendon. The Greens took an early lead through Belal Aiteouakrim, but Carshalton equalised through the superb Mark Marshall in the 14th minute. Three minutes later the Robins were ahead thanks to Adrian Toppin and in the 23rd minute Marshall took advantage of further poor Hendon defending to make it 3-1. Dean Green pulled a goal back for Hendon but before half-time Luke Fontana made it 4-2 and send the Robins in at half-time deservedly ahead.

Hendon were much improved in the second half and the ball spent most of the second half in the Carshalton half. The Greens were rewarded for their efforts when Brian Haule headed home a fine cross from James Burgess. Aiteouakrim then missed an open goal to equalise before Fontana completed the scoring in the final minute.

Saturday 17 February - Depleted Greens win

A depleted Hendon side missing three defenders put in a hardworking performance to win 1-0 at Slough Town this afternoon. Had the Greens showed more confidence in front of goal the scoreline would surely have been more comfortable. The goal came in the 37th minute when Davis Haule got the final touch in a goalmouth scramble. Both the Slough keeper and a defender had chances to clear the ball but were only able to watch the ball spin slowly over the line. Slough were reduced to ten men towards the end of the game when Jon Mills was sent off for what appeared to be violent conduct.

Thursday 08 February - AFC Wimbledon deducted 18 points

AFC Wimbledon have been fined £400 and deducted 18 points after they were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in 11 games this season. The 18 points reflects the points won during the 11 games that Jermaine Darlington, the ineligible player, played in.

The Ryman League issued the following statement yesterday.

"A personal hearing took place this morning before a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Isthmian Football League Ltd. in respect of a charge for a breach of Rules by AFC Wimbledon in that they had played Jermaine Darlington for the club in eleven League matches before an International Registration Transfer Certificate was obtained.

"Having considered the evidence tendered before them and the plea of mitigation put today by the Club, the decision of the Board is that as AFC Wimbledon did not obtain an International Registration Transfer Certificate in respect of Jermaine Darlington, the Club is in breach of League Rule 6.1.

"It follows that the Club has played an ineligible player under Rule 6.8 in eleven League matches. The Board felt that they must deduct the points gained from those matches and levy a fine in accordance with the Fines Tariff. Accordingly, AFC Wimbledon are deducted 18 points and must pay a fine of 400.

"An appeal by the Club against this decision lies to The Football Association in accordance with League Rule 17.4.

The league table on the website has been updated to reflect this points deduction

Sunday 04 February - Another youth team goal feast

Three youth teams were in action today, with two scoring ten or more goals. The under 16s beat Headstone Manor 11-2 in the second round of the league cup, Omar Abdou leading the way with a hat-trick. Meanwhile, the under 13s beat Princes Park 10-0 to return to winning ways in the league. Abdul Nazim and Luke Azumah both scored hat-tricks. It was bad news for the under 14s who put in a very disappointing performance to lose 2-1 to FC Roundwood, Gavin Austin scoring their only goal. Full reports and updated tables can be found on the relevant team pages as normal.

Saturday 03 February - One goal enough at Chelmsford

Hendon put in another hard working performance at Chelmsford, and were unfortunate not to come away with a point as they lost 1-0. The decisive goal came in the 59th minute when Jason Hallett tapped home from close range from a rebound after Richard Wilmot had made a good save low down near his post. Hendon's best chance came in the 71st minute when a quick free kick saw Belal Aiteouakrim clear through on goal, but unfortunately his shot was off target and was cleared to safety.

We hope that both players enjoy their time with the club.
