Wilmot on months loan

Yesterday's new 'keeper, Richard Wilmot, has been signed on a months loan from Hitchin as extra-cover whilst McCann recovers from his long term injury, playing due to Andy Iga being struck by the flu over the weekend.

U's snatch late winner

Sutton left the LOOT stadium today with all three points, having snatched a last minute winner after a free-kick, given for a foul by Fitzgerald.

Hendon fightback again

On a wet, warm afternoon Hendon came away from Hitchin Town with a 3-3 draw, the goals coming through 2 Warren Kelly penalties, and the other from Dale Binns.

Kelly spot on for the Greens

A late converted penalty from Warren Kelly following a foul on Jon Daly (the other goalscorer from a goalmouth scramble meant that Hendon gained a well earned point against a very physical Heybridge side.

Ex-Don, Phil Gridelet has been re-signed by Frank Murphy for Hendon, along with Andy Iga (second choice 'keeper from last season) and David Adekola (trialist from Walton and Hersham).

n this week's Non-League Football Paper, two Hendon players made it into all-Conference squads.

Goalkeeper crisis

The club is currently going through a goalkeeping crisis, and although he has a certain amount of cover, Frank Murphy is still looking for possible cover while Gary McCann continues his rehabilitation following his summer operation.

Middlesex Senior Cup draw

The Middlesex Senior cup draw has given Hendon a first round tie with Wembley at the LOOT stadium.

Clacton pull back to draw

Hendon drew their final friendly before the start of this season's campaign, Bartholomew and Pickett putting the Greens 2-1 up before half time.

Gentle and Scott leave

Dominic Gentle and Paul Scott have both left the Dons to play elsewhere, and it is unlikely that they will re-sign to play at the LOOT stadium this season.

Pickett sinks Ducks

Two Ross Pickett goals gave the Dons victory against Aylesbury United tonight, a chip around the keeper from just inside the area putting the Dons ahead and the second coming after a cross from Haule was slid across the keeper.

Wembley beat Hendon XI

A Hendon side consisting again of reserves and trialists fell to a 4-0 defeat to a full strength Wembley side, which included former Hendon player Steve O'Carroll in their starting line up.

Walton soundly beaten

Hendon beat Walton and Hersham soundly last night in a friendly match with goals from Warren Kelly, Davis Haule and Matthew Bartholomew.

Managers cup entries to be in

The Managers cup will start on Saturday 19th August with the league game against Croydon, meaning that to be elegible to score points from the beginning of the season, entries must be in by kick off.

White upon further review

Hendon defender John-Simon White has not, as previously reported, left the club.

Whitmarsh wanted a new challenge

Whitmarsh, who signed for Hendon in November 1997, struggled last season to find the form he showed in 1998-99, when he scored over 40 goals, but remained one of the most feared strikers in the Ryman League.

Hendon Reserves have now played four preseason games and they are looking quite good.

Laurie Thurgood, the President of the Supporters Association died on Friday night.

Walton friendly postponed

Hendon's friendly scheduled for this Thursday against Walton & Hersham has been postponed until next Monday, when the two sides will meet at Stompond Road.

Whitmarsh moves on

It has been confirmed that Paul Whitmarsh has signed a 2 year contract with Welling United, who were relegated from the Nationwide Conference to the Dr Martens League last season.

Hendon fielded a reserve team in the friendly at Ruislip Manor last night, and lost to a goal early in the second half after a defensive error.
