Hendon won their first league fixture this season against new-boy's Croydon convincingly, never looking like conceding a goal. An early second minute goal from Simon Clake kick started the game for Hendon, with Pickett then doubling the lead on his debut by lobbing the 'keeper. Man-of-the-Match Adolphe scored the third late in the first half and Watson scored the fourth with a cool header from Binns' cross to send the Don's top of the league for the first day of the season.
