Those who braved the elements on Saturday in the interests of charity, and they were not a few, witnessed an excellent game at the Avenue ground with Polytechnic in the second round of the Middlesex Charity Cup, Hampstead winning by 5 goals to 1.

Notwithstanding the adverse conditions, the Town played sparkling football and completely swamped their opponents, the goalscorers being A Parker, H Pride (3) and W Denham.

H Pennifer was brilliant at entre-forward, and the whole team gave an excellent display. Although the score was so greatly in Hampstead's favour, the game was by no means one-sided, and Matthews in the Town goal got through a lot of work very creditably.
