Hampsxtead [Town], who entertained Kingstonians at the Avenue Ground, Child's Hill,in the Athenian League, could only extract one point from the encounter, which ended in a draw 2-2.
Kingstonians received early encouragement with a good goal from their outside left, H.E. Crick. Coincidentally J.P. Croal, Hampstead's speedy and clever left-winger, responded with an effort which many declared to be the best goal scored by the team this season, and soon after, J. Hall gave the home side the lead, which they retained at the interval.
Hampstead could have won by a comfortable margin but for a generally disappointing display, and in particular the lack of judgment on the part of their three inside forwards, who persisted in short passing tactics which were easily frustrated on every occasion by the smart work of the Kingstonians backs, B.J. Rollo and F. Vivyen Davies, the latter giving a particularly fine display. G.R. Stentiford scored the only goal of the second half, and the Kingstonians were well satisfied with the result.
Hampstead " A " team visited Kingstonians " A " and in a keenly contested game also effected a draw 4-4.
Tomorrow (Saturday), a most attractive match is provided by the visit of the reserves of the Southern League team, Millwall F.C. Kick off 3.30. Hampstead will field a fine eleven in - H.J. Dale; S. Dunstone, H.H. Allwright; J.H. Parker, G.F. Blackburn, H. WVoodward; A.E. Mallett, Lieut. F.C. Gathercole, F.A. Yates, W. Hadley, J.P. Croal.
