Match Report

Hampstead [Town] dropped a couple of points in the Athenian League, being defeated by Summerstown in the return match on the latter's ground by 2 goals to 0. Hampstead's re-arranged team failed rather badly in the first half, and the home side crossed over with two goals scored for them in good style by P. Wodehouse. In the second period Hampstead played a greatly improved game, but failed to take advantage of the numerous opportunities presented.

At the Avenue ground the " A " team gave a good display before a large crowd, defeating the well known Alleyn F.C. (old boys of Dulwich College) by 3 goals to 1. R. Eastgate opened Hampstead's score, which was subsequently increased by two excellent efforts by T.B. Poltock, who played throughout in his best form. The team was captained by W.G. Darvill, who operated well at centre-half.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Tufnell Park visit the Avenue ground in the Middlesex Charity Cup, and both home and visiting clubs will be strongly represented. Kick off 3 o'clock. All the proceeds of this match are devoted to County charities. An event on behalf of St. Dunstan's is being organized later by the Hampstead club.
