Hampstead [Town], in visiting and defeating Kingstonians by three goals to none, won their fourth consecutive Athenian League match, and are now to be seriously reckoned with for the championship. The Kingstonians in the first half, with many scoring chances might have established a winning lead, but for faulty shooting combined with a particularly fine display by P.E. Bruty in the Hampstead goal. At this stage Hampstead attacked only at intervals, and C. Wise missed a "sitter" just before the half-time whistle.
After the change of ends Hampstead had a monopoly in attack, and their amateur international, C. Wise did the hat trick, his first two goals resulting from particularly fine movements by S. Briscoe, operating on the right wing, and the third a well judged strong shot. For the losers R. Lee at left back, J.A. Rowe at centre half, and G.R. Stentiford and A.E. Harry, forwards, were always prominent. Hampstead were well served by C. Burrage at centre half, and H.G. Baxter and S. Dunstone in defence.
