Hampstead [Town], although consistently winning on the home ground, where they have experienced only two defeats this season, in both instances by St. Albans in Cup and League games, have been somewhat inconsistent and disappointing in their away fixtures, particularly of late. On Saturday they failed to change the sequence of lost games on Barnet's ground at Underhill, where, after many attempts, they have yet to be on the winning side. On this occasion they were narrowly defeated by two goals to one, S. Howard scoring Hampstead's point and C. Wise unfortunately missing with a penalty kick. Barnet led at half-time by 1-0. Their goals were scored by P. Harding and R. Beckett.
Hampstead play their last home game of the season on Saturday, when they entertain Enfield in the Athenian League at Child's Hill. They will be at full strength both for this match and the Middlesex Charity Cup final with Botwell Mission the following week.
