The visit of the Tottenham Hotspur reserve side to Hampstead Town in a friendly encounter attracted a big crowd to the Child's Hill enclosure, and a remarkably fine contest was witnessed. The visitors fielded their strongest reserve eleven, yet they were well held by Hampstead throughout the first half, and only led by a goal at the interval. Several good chances were missed by the Hampstead forward line, from which R. Kirby was again absent.
Travers Day was given his opportunity at centre-forward for the Town, and proved quite satisfactory, opening up the game well and displaying a fine turn of speed. On several occasions he beat the opposing defence and with better shooting ability might have scored several goals. C. Wise brought the scores level after the interval with a fine shot following a brilliant movement and centre by S. Briscoe. Thereafter the Spurs made determined efforts and deservedly won a fine game by three goals to one.
