Despite the inclement conditions a fair crowd witnessed Hampstead [Town]'s defeat of Yiewsley in the Middlesex Charity Cup-tie by two goals to none. Hampstead were well to the fore throughout the game, and twenty minutes after the start H.S. White scored with a really brilliant left wing shot.
Yiewsley rarely attacked with any chance of success, and in the second half Hampstead bombarded their goal. W.H. Walters, however, proved a particularly fine custodian, and he made only one mistake in leaving his charge for a futile tackle with S. Briscoe, C. Wise securing the ball and scoring with ease.
This success carries Hampstead to the semi-final of the competition.
