On Monday evening Hampstead visited Barking [Town] and were defeated by five clear goals. Although Barking deserved to win, Hampstead should have scored at least two goals, both Dempster and Neil missing easy chances when well placed.
Hampstead were without the whole of their first team half-back line. V. F. Rowe, who was at centre-half, was unable to hold Keeble, the Barking centre-forward, who scored four goals, the fifth being netted by Lucas.
S.R. Smith could not be blamed for the goals against him, for he played a fine game, and was well applauded by the Barking supporters for some brilliant saves.
