What a first class show the lads put up at Hitchin where we won 5-0. It was a real power-house display, with sparkling debuts from Arthur Peel, at outside-right, and Brian Chubb, deputising at right-half for the injured Roy Walker.

It must rate as one of our best performances of this memorable season.

The goals came from David Hyde (2), Gerry O'Rourke (2) and Laurie Churchill. This was our sixth Isthmian League double of the season.

A compliment from the referee after the game at Hitchin. He claimed that we were the best amateur side he had seen this season.
