On a bone hard ground on which both teams found difficulty in keeping their feet in the icy conditions our lads did well to make further programme in this Middlesex County Senior cup-tie at Southall.
Once again the team took no risks and as a result appeared slower than the opposition with the result that Southall had more of the game.
Despite this our defence had the game well under control with the result that John Swannell had only two difficult shots to handle.
Geoff Riddy opened the scoring with a well directed lob from a Jimmy Quail free kick, and Laurie Churchill added the second with a shot from what appeared an impossible angle, the goalie helping the ball into the net.
