Wednesday 20 November - Felix arrives

Joseph Felix is the latest player to join the club, arriving from Hampton & Richmond Borough on a dual registration basis, similar to that which has seen Wadah Ahmidi join the club.

20-year old Joseph is a right-back who was a youngster with Fulham and QPR and spent some time at Burgess Hill last term on loan. After joining Woking in the summer he went on loan to Farnborough before joining Hampton in October.

We welcome Joseph to the club and wish him well for his time at SJP.

Tuesday 19 November - Dante's inferno on the spot

17-year old goalkeeper Dante Baptiste was the Hendon hero this evening saving four penalties in a penalty shoot-out to seal Hendon's progression in the CSS Southern League Cup against Hayes & Yeading United.

Ogo Obi scored his third goal of the season against Hendon with a superb curled effort, a strike that was added to shortly afterwards by Toby Little when he turned an Obi cross beyond Baptiste.

The Greens came out with renewed vigour after the break, but found the Hayes defence and goalkeeper Andrew McCorkell in fine form. Luke Tingey headed home a Shaun Lucien corner to reduce the arrears and Corey Panter fired home a magnificent low 30-yard strike to take the game to penalties.

Both goalkeepers showed their prowess to force sudden death, McCorkell saving two and Howard Hall hitting the bar. After Tom Hamblin scored Hendon's 10th penalty to make it 7-6 Baptiste plunged to his right to save his fourth and take the Greens into the next round.

Tickets are now available for the highly popular end of year draw which has cash prizes available.

All profits go back into the running of the club and will go towards providing Lee Allinson with as competitive a budget as possible for the 2020/1 season.

Saturday 16 November - Williams sinks Greens

A duo of goals from Harry Williams gave in-form Swindon Supermarine the points this afternoon as Hendon's wait for a first away league win of the season continues.

Williams struck in the 27th and 34th minutes for the hosts to secure a 2-0 win, a result that strengthens their play-off hosts and leaves the Greens firmly in the mire for now.

Friday 15 November - New player re-cap

It's been a whirlwind 24-hours at the club with players pitching up on a regular basis so here is a quick re-cap as to who has come in.

Before last weekend's game Isaac Galliford signed on a month's loan from Hemel Hempstead Town, he has already impressed in his two appearances so far and will be with us until the first weekend in December.

In addition a club legend returned in the shape of popular midfielder and terrace cult hero, Dave Diedhiou. Dave signed from St Albans City on a dual registration basis and very much remains part of Ian Allinson's plans. The agreement is that the Saints have first choice with regards to his selection, however there may be occasions where Dave will be able to play for Hendon in the future.

This week saw the addition of attacking midfielder Andronicos Georgiou yesterday on a month's loan from Stevenage, following the expiry of a similar agreement with St Albans City.

Next through the door this morning was young goalkeeper Dante Baptiste, who has signed a youth loan agreement from Watford, and shortly afterwards was the return of winger Shaun Lucien on a permanent basis from Biggleswade Town.

Finally, Wadah Ahmidi has signed on dual registration from Hampton & Richmond Borough. Similar to the agreement that saw Ed Cook arrive at Silver Jubilee Park last month, this move allows Wadah to gain minutes following more than a year out of the game and will prove beneficial to Wadah as he proves his fitness, to Hampton and Gary McCann and, not least, to ourselves, having a proven step 2 player available to us.

Isaac, Andronicos, Dante, Shaun and Wadah will all be available for selection for tomorrow's game at Swindon.

Friday 15 November - Ahmidi joins on dual registration

The third new signing of the day comes in the shape of combative midfielder Wadah Ahmidi, who has joined the club on dual registration from Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Wadah signed for the Beavers last week, making his debut in their Middlesex Senior Cup tie with Harrow Borough in midweek, having taken a year or so out of the game for personal reasons after beginning last season in excellent form for Wealdstone. Prior to that he was a key component of the Staines Town side that went close to the play-offs in 2017/18.

He has also spent time at Maidenhead United and will be available for selection tomorrow.

We welcome Wadah to Silver Jubilee Park and wish him every success during his stay here.

Posted at 13:22

Friday 15 November - Lucien returns

The second signing of the day sees the return of winger Shaun Lucien from Lee Allinson's old side Biggleswade Town.

Shaun originally joined the club following his release from Kingstonian in October last year and went on to make 15 appearances. He was released in January and signed for the Waders where he made an immediate impact both last season and this term before making the decision to re-unite with Allinson.

We welcome Shaun back to the club and hope he has a successful stay at Silver Jubilee Park.

Posted at 11:03

Friday 15 November - New goalkeeper signs

Watford goalkeeper Dante Baptiste has joined the club on a youth loan from the Premier League Club.

Released by Norwich in the summer of 2018, Dante signed for the Vicarage Road outfit shortly afterwards where he has impressed in their age-group teams under the tutelage of former Arsenal and Barnet goalkeeper Graham Stack.

We welcome Dante to the club and wish him well for his time at SJP.

Thursday 14 November - Georgiou joins for a month

Lee Allinson has added to his squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Swindon in the shape of attacking midfielder Andronicos Georgiou who signs on-loan from Stevenage.

Andronicos, who turned 20 at the end of October, has just completed a similar arrangement at St Albans City. He has made 3 league appearances for Stevenage's first team and had a successful spell on-loan at Kings Langley as well in the second half of last season.

He signed a contract extension at the beginning of this year at the Lamex Stadium taking him through to this coming summer and had a trial at Middlesbrough during pre-season.

We welcome Andronicos to the club and wish him well for his month here.

Thursday 14 November - Final Buildbase push

We are nearing the end of the vote for the Buildbase poll to put forward six clubs to present their plans for what they would do with £25,000 worth of building materials and currently sit in third place.

As part of Buildbase's sponsorship of the FA Trophy they are offering £100,000 worth of building materials to grass roots clubs to go towards a project.

The clubs that receive the six highest number of votes will be invited to Wembley Stadium to pitch their plans the from those six, four suceesful clubs will receive £25,000 worth of supplies to go towards their project.

If successful, the grant would go towards the full refurbishment of the clubhouse which would include a new roof, moving the bar and installing a new kitchen. Tuesday 12 November - Connor cuts O's to pieces

A Connor Calcutt strike in the first half gave Hendon a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient in the London Senior Cup.

A largely youthful Orient side gave as good as they got in a tight game that was decided by a piece of impudent skill and finishing by Calcutt when he received the ball inside the penalty area, cut onto his left foot and finished into the far corner.

The second half saw both sides create half-chances without really threatening either goalkeeper as the Greens held on to progress.

Monday 11 November - New Hendon FC Book released: Hendon A-Z by David Ballheimer

London League Publications Ltd are pleased to announce the publication of The Hendon Football Club A to Z by David Ballheimer.

Hendon Football Club, founded as Christ Church Hampstead in 1908, is one of the best-known clubs in non-league football. In 1914, then playing as Hampstead Town, it joined the Athenian League, but that season was cancelled because of the outbreak of World War One. In 1963, having become Hendon in 1946, it was elected to the Isthmian League, where it played until moving to the Southern League in 2018.

Over the years the club played in five Amateur Cup Finals at Wembley, held Newcastle United to a draw in the FA Cup, and won the Athenian and Isthmian League titles. Many Hendon players competed at the top level in international amateur football, playing for the Great Britain team in the Olympics and for the England amateur side.

This book looks at the club’s history through different topics - cup and league competitions, battles with different opponents such as Enfield, Wealdstone, Harrow Borough and Wingate & Finchley and appearances in key cup and league matches. It also includes information about Hendon’s links with the London Premier League and English Football League clubs, including victories against Arsenal, Millwall, West Ham United and Leyton Orient.

The club’s players are mainly covered in the “Dream Teams” section of the book - selections based on the different letters of the alphabet.

Every Hendon fan, and people with an interest in non-league football and the sport’s history, will enjoy this book. The author, David Ballheimer, is a life-long Hendon supporter, the club’s press officer and a vastly-experienced sports journalist.

Published in November 2019 @ £14.95.

Book details: 336 page paperback illustrated with over 30 photos.

ISBN: 9781909885233

It is available to order from the publisher at www.llpshop.co.uk, on Amazon and Abe Books, from the Hendon FC Supporters Association Club Shop from tomorrow evening and can be ordered from any bookshop. An E-Book for Kindle users is also available on Amazon.

The book can be ordered from the London League Publications Ltd website, www.llpshop.co.uk for £14.50 post free in the UK.

Yesterday saw Chris Grace play his last match as a Hendon player having made the decision to move on.

Based in Bracknell and with a young family, Chris has taken the decision to leave the club and find football closer to home, enabling him to spend more time with his kids.

Chris joined the club originally on dual registration in April and kept three clean sheets in six matches to help us stay up before going on to secure the number 1 shirt this term with a string of fine performances, including yesterday.

Our thanks go to Chris for all his efforts over the past 7 months and we wish him, his Mum Liz and his Grandad Don all the very best for the future.

Saturday 09 November - 10-man Greens triumph

Hendon gained a valuable win this afternoon at a soaking wet Silver Jubilee Park against fellow strugglers Beaconsfield Town.

A goalless first half that saw chances at both ends burst into life towards the end when Kameron English was adjudged to have gone in high and late on Mayo Balogun and shown a red card.

Beaconsfield then had the better of the opening stages of the second period but found Chris Grace in belligerent mood before Charlie Lossaso's 20-yard strike took a touch and flew beyond Grace to give the visitors the lead.

The lead lasted only a minute when the ball fell kindly for Tom Hamblin to fire home his first goal for the club.

With 7 minutes to go Balogun headed the ball back to Myles Bowman, however the goalkeeper who, up until that point had made three excellent saves, lost the ball in the wet conditions and Isaac Galliford marked his debut with a simple tap in to secure the three points.

Friday 08 November - Familiar face returns

The second player to join the club ahead of tomorrow's important match with Beaconsfield Town is a returning face.

Dave Diedhiou, who made 380 appearance and scored 43 goals across 10 seasons after joining the club in 2008 - as well as becoming a cult terrace hero - has signed on dual registration terms from St Albans City.

He will be available for selection tomorrow with the Saints not having a fixture, however as part of the agreement St Albans will have first call on Dave's services beyond that.

It goes without saying that we warmly welcome Dave back to SJP and look forward to seeing him back in green tomorrow.

Friday 08 November - Galliford joins on-loan

Lee Allinson has made his first signing as Hendon manager with the addition of attacking midfielder Isaac Galliford on a month's loan from Hemel Hempstead Town.

Isaac was with Hitchin Town last season where he impressed enough to be capped by the England C team in Estonia back in June before joining Hemel.

We welcome Isaac to the club and wish him well for the next month.

Friday 08 November - Charity collection tomorrow in aid of Smile for a Child

We are delighted to be holding a bucket collection following tomorrow's match in aid of local charity Smile for a Child.

Founded by Chris Read, a former student of Whitefields School on Claremont Road who has fond memories of watching Hendon just up the road, Smile for a Child (which is based in Mill Hill) give grants to children to help them participate and progress in sport.

They support children with any disability and are provided to individuals at school or sports clubs and their typical grant is around £500.

All the money raised from this collection will go to better the lives of local disabled children through the love of sport. This is something

many take for granted. A pair of child’s football boots can cost £30-£40 and a special football frame for a disabled child can cost £400. They all deserve to be able to enjoy the fantastic sport of football.

More information can be found on our website

here or e-mail asmileforachild@btinternet.com.

We hope you are able to give this wonderful local charity your generous support tomorrow afternoon and help to improve someone's accessibility to sport.

Thursday 07 November - McGleish moves on

Scott McGleish has left the club and wishes everyone connected with the club, and the new management team all the best for the future.

Scott, who originally played for Hendon's youth side alongside former Green and current Barnet manager Darren Currie, made his first team debut in December 2018 having joined the club as player-coach earlier that month from Chesham United.

He went on to make four appearances for the club, mostly at centre-half, as well as providing valuable experience within the dressing room.

We wish Scott all the very best for his future career and thank him for his efforts over the past eleven months.

Thursday 07 November - Allinson names backroom staff

Lee Allinson has wasted no time in getting his backroom team together after taking charge of the first-team earlier this week.

Supporters at Farnborough will have noticed a mixture of new and familiar faces in the technical area last night.

Joining Lee from Biggleswade Town are his assistant manager Eddie McLoughlin and coaches Charlie Merson and Caolan South. We extend a warm welcome to Eddie, Charlie and Caolan and hope they enjoy their time at Silver Jubilee Park.

Kate Simmons has agreed to remain as Sports Therapist whilst Scott McGleish and Hassan Karimzedah currently remain with the club, with decisions pending over the next few days.

That means that Mark Boyce and Jason Scannell have left the club. We'd like to place on record our thanks for their efforts in assisting James Gray over the past 17 months and wish them well for the future.

Thursday 07 November - It was twenty years ago today...

SImon Lawrence today paid tribute to 20 years of Greensnet and to Steve, Phil and more recently John Rogers who have developed and curated it since its creation.

Simon said "November 1999 saw the creation of Greensnet, the club's website, and along with the club's social media channels, the means by which Hendon fans are now able to stay in touch with developments on and off the pitch whether they are based in Kingsbury or Kuala Lumpur.

Today's version of the website offers readers almost real-time access to results, reports and news items as well as an unrivalled archive of player and match statistics.

It's always risky to single out individuals for thanks because it's too easy to forget to thank others but, as we mark 20 years of Greensnet, we have to acknowledge that it doesn't "just happen" - it is a labour of love.

Whether it is changing the page structure, updating a database or writing a news item, it needs someone to care enough to do it and the effort that Steve, Phil and, for the past 9 months, John have put in over the past 20 years must not go un-noticed.

I would like to thank each of them for the work that they have put in over that time to develop the fledgling website into one of - if not - the best club websites around."

Wednesday 06 November - Greens well beaten at Farnborough

Hendon went down 4-0 at Farnborough this evening on a tough evening in Hampshire.

With Lee Allinson in the dugout, but largely observing with Scott McGleish picking the team the Greens fell behind on five minutes when Thomas Leggett seized upon a defensive error. Connor Cullen doubled the lead on the half hour with a superb strike from outside the box.

Andrew Sealey-Harris made it 3-0 with another strike from outside the penalty area and the rout was completed in the 81st minute when a corner wasn't cleared and CJ Fearn turned the loose ball home.

He will be familiar with the set-up at Silver Jubilee Park having steered his side to a 2-1 victory against us in last season's FA Trophy, almost a year ago to the day.

Further details regarding his back-room staff will be available on the website shortly but we hope that you will all offer your support to Lee, his staff and the playing squad as they attempt to turn our season around.

Tuesday 05 November - Gray departs by mutual consent

The club has today mutually agreed to part company with manager Jimmy Gray.

Jimmy, who joined the club in June 2018, faced and ultimately overcame a massive challenge when he arrived with all of the previous season's back-room staff and first team squad having moved on.

This season's results and performances have, however, been disappointing and so it was felt that a change was required in order to give the club the best possible chance of avoiding a second successive relegation struggle.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Jimmy for all of his hard work - and his honesty throughout - and to wish him all the best for the future.

A further announcement regarding the appointment of Jimmy's replacement will be made in due course.
