New Partnership with Limitless Football Academy

We are delighted to be able to announce a new partnership with Limitless Football Academy who will be working under the Hendon FC name at Silver Jubilee Park next season.

On This Day: 27th April

The 27th April sees the goal-fests of the last couple of days consigned to the dustbin as today’s 27 matches see goals scored at a rate of less than 2.

(Not) On This Day: 26th April

The 26th April sees a rather more timid round-up with ten matches fewer than yesterday’s review, just the 25 matches on the menu today but plenty of goals to report.

(Not) On This Day: 25th April

The 25th April has seen much more in the way of action over the years than any other day we’ve covered so far with more matches and more goals.

MyJobQuote competition winner

The winner of the MyJobQuote tool kit competition advertised on Greensnet last month has been announced with Tim Scheutz, a plumbing and heating contractor from Cambridge, taking home £250 worth of tools and equipment.

Social Media Boycott

You may be aware that this coming weekend sees the English football family coming together to boycott social media in response to the ongoing and sustained discriminatory abuse received online by players and many others connected to football.

We have heard yesterday evening from Alan Messenger (one of our Isle of Wight-based supporters) that his mother, Brenda Messenger (nee Webb) has passed away.

Today’s first look back at matches to have taken place on this day in the history of Hendon Football Club, and previous guises, is a far more moderate affair with 21 matches having taken place on 22nd April.

Breathlessly we move our look back over football matches that the club have played onto 21st April, a day on which we’ve played competitively on 27 occasions and where judging by results, there were more than a few tired limbs at play.

Hot on the heels of the 27-match marathon yesterday we ease up a little with only 25-matches forming today’s review of the action to have taken place on 16th April over the years.

The 15th April has been a day of mixed fortunes in the history of Hendon Football Club with no fewer than 27 matches having been played on this day over the years.

Moving on to 14th April and a day which, in spite of providing us with no fewer than five goalless games, has also given supporters plenty of thrills and spills over the years.

We find ourselves finally back on track and up to speed as we turn our attention to 13th April and begin in 1914 with a Middlesex League match against 2nd Battalion Scots Guards.

Moving swiftly on to 12th April with our ‘not… on this day’ series and we begin in 1913 with the club’s first ever senior cup final appearance.

We’ve fallen behind slightly on our ‘on this day’ series so whilst this update isn’t strictly ‘on this day’, we’ll temporarily rename it ‘on last Sunday’.

There were 23 competitive matches reviewed in yesterday’s ‘on this day’ round-up and in the interests of consistency there are 23 competitive matches to be reviewed today as well.

Our ‘on this day’ series continues unabated with a look back at events that have occurred on the pitch on 9th April, beginning today, 111 years ago in 1910.

We move into the 2nd week of April with our ‘on this day’ feature moving onto 8th April, a day on which goals have been at a relative premium compared to recent days in spite of a monumental win and a high-scoring defeat.

Today we take a look back at matches that have taken place on 7th April across the club’s history and take in another day on which the fun has outweighed the nonsense fairly considerably.

New additions to the backroom staff

Life remains busy behind the scenes at Silver Jubilee Park with early preparations beginning ahead of the 2021/22 season with three new additions to the backroom team.

HFCTV Interview with Allinson and Mawer

As the first-team returned to training on Thursday evening the HFCTV cameras were at Silver Jubilee Park to grab some time with Lee Allinson and new number 2 Cameron Mawer.

North moves on

There will be a new man between the sticks next season as Lee Allinson has confirmed that goalkeeper Jonathan North has decided to move on.

It’s April Fool’s Day and whilst we continue our look back in history there will be no mention of anything that didn’t happen or any attempts at subterfuge.
