There was so much to enjoy about our friendly at Silver Jubilee Park last night as we took on an Arsenal team in front of a large crowd. Unfortunately, the evening was soured this morning as the club received reports of racist comments made by a spectator during the second half of the match.
Unfortunately, the reports were not made known to a club official at the time, and we were unable to eject the spectator from the crowd last night. However, we would like to thank those who overheard the comments for reporting them this morning.
Hendon Football Club prides itself on being a welcoming place where people can enjoy their football regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexuality, and takes a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in all forms.
Discrimination has no place in football. Please be under no illusions that anyone found to have made racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, or discriminatory comments of any kind will receive an immediate stadium ban.
We would like to reaffirm our commitment to making Silver Jubilee Park a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, and we will continue to work to identify the individual involved in last night’s incident.
