Hendon overcame a sluggish opening hour to beat newly promoted Bowers & Pitsea 2-1 at Silver Jubilee Park this afternoon.
Joe White had an early header brilliantly saved by Rhys Byrne in the visting goal before Rohdell Gordon, the orchestrator of everything good for the visiting side, curled a superb free kick beyond the Hendon wall to open the scoring against his old side on 36 minutes.
Bowers & Pitsea had a couple of excellent opportunities to extend their advantage before White equalised on 65 minutes, and with 7 minutes left, Kai Brosnan executed a brilliant volley to make it 2-1 to the Greens,
Dave Diedhiou came on late on to protect the lead, and Hendon took a three points that was a little harsh on their opponents over the 90 minutes.
Attention quickly turns to Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday night, with the South London club losing 3-2 at Wingate & Finchley this afernoon.
