Hendon played out their final pre-season friendly in front of a healthy crowd of 621 at Silver Jubilee Park last night, overcoming a young Arsenal side 2-1.
Led by former England midfielder Jack Wilshere, Arsenal made the early running before Kai Brosnan swept home on 18 minutes to give Hendon the lead.
Skipper Joe White then added a second shortly after, catching the Arsenal goalkeeper a long way from home with an impudent chip from 40-plus yards before Arsenal responded with a fine finish from the edge of the penalty area.
Debutant goalkeeper Luke Campbell made several good saves to preserve Hendon's lead, while the Greens created plenty of openings of their own without managing to hit the target as both teams failed to add to the scoreline in the second period.
