Hendon extended their unbeaten run to 21 games, and in turn picked up three more points as they beat AFC Hornchurch 4-2 at Earlsmead. The result was made even better with four players making their first league starts of the season - including Michael Murray making a return from Northwood and Daniel McNicholas appearing for the first time since the final game of last season.
The result means that the very slight outside chance of winning the title still remains - but it would require a goal difference swing of 17 goals on Saturday afternoon.
The Greens took the lead in the 10th minute through Charlie Goode, before Kezie Ibe fired home the rebound from his failed penalty in the 33rd minute.
The Urchins, who were relegated at the weekend, hit back with two goals in a minute through Tobi Joseph and George Purcell.
However, the Greens refused to give up yet again, and goals from the returning Adam Wallace, his first of the campaign, and Leon Smith secured the victory.
