Hendon's supporters team shrugged off the concession of a first minute goal to dominate the inaugural Les & Steve Memorial Cup match in front of a healthy crowd at Silver Jubilee Park.
Boosted by 80 minute cameos from Hendon legends Junior Lewis and Freddie Hyatt, the Greens wrested control with five goals in each half - the highlight being a sizzling volley from lifelong Hendon fan Chris Harte, before a last minute penalty reduced the arrears, meaning the game ended 10-2.
The game was played in a great spirit, befitting the memory of both Les Vincent and Steve Cheesewright.
With current Hendon player Aaron Morgan and former Don Mark Kirby amongst those in attendance, a successful evening was capped with the mother of Steve and wife of Les presenting the cup to winning captain Andy Vincent.
