Hendon have another important weekend coming up, with two more crucial league games over the Easter weekend.
Firstly, tomorrow afternoon, we entertain Margate at Vale Farm. The Kent side had looked like making a tilt for the play-offs a couple of months ago, but the departure of leading scorer Kwesi Appiah has seen them pick up just 8 points from their last eleven games, their two wins coming against Harrow Borough, and most recently last Saturday against Horsham.
In the reverse fixture back in September at Hartsdown Park, the Greens ran out 2-0 winners with a penalty from Jamie Busby and a rare Kevin Maclaren goal.
Then on Monday afternoon, we make the short trip to Wingate & Finchley. This will be our first league game at Summers Lane since December 1962 when we lost 5-0 to Finchley in an Athenian League fixture, although we have played a number of cup ties there in recent years. The reverse fixture on Boxing Day was a 1-1 draw with Greg Ngoyi on target for the Greens.
Gary McCann and the squad will go into the games knowing that they cannot afford to drop points to ensure our play off hopes are kept alive. Your support is crucial to the squad, so we hope to see as many of you as possible at both games getting behind the team and hopefully cheering them on to six points.
