A Hendon side missing no less than 11 players through injury or suspension were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Margate this afternoon at Vale Farm.
However, with Lewes only drawing at Aveley, and Cray Wanderers losing at home to Harrow Borough, the Greens are still in with a chance of reaching the play-offs, but they will need to ensure three points are secured at Wingate & Finchley on Monday afternoon.
The Kent side took an early lead in the 7th minute through Tom Murphy, but Hendon had a chance to equalise midway through the half when Casey Maclaren was fouled in the box by Laurence Ball. However, Simon Overland was able to save Elliott Godfrey's spot kick.
The Greens' injury problems were exacerbated on the half hour as Michael Peacock was forced off, and he was replaced by James Parker.
Margate's second goal came in the 70th minute when Murphy scored again, and the final nail in the coffin came in stoppage time when Tom Bradbrook found the back of the net.
Monday's game takes on even more importance now, so we do ask that if you are able to get to Summers Lane that you do so and get behind the team. We are all in this together.
