The first team make a quick return to Essex, this time to the north-east corner of the county where Braintree Town await in what is likely to be a tough encounter. Kick off at Cressing Road is at 3.00pm. Last season, the Iron struggled and rarely looked like pulling out of the bottom four of the table. Hendon won 3-1 (Eugene Ofori, 2, and Ricci Crace) at Cressing Road, and 1-0 at Claremont Road (Ofori again). This season, under new manager George Borg and with former St Albans Chairman Lee Harding in a similar role, Braintree have enjoyed much more success, until losing at Slough, their first reverse of 2004-05, last Saturday, although they bounced back with a last minute win against Wealdstone on Tuesday evening, courtesy of a Bertie Brayley goal.
