Match Report

Barnet and Alston were easily defeated by five goals to one in the Middlesex League (Premier Division) at the Avenue ground on Saturday, and as previous to this match they were at the head of the table, the Town's win is the more meritorious.

The ground was in splendid condition and the fast game delighted the crowd. Hampstead showed splendid combination in the first half and goals were scored by O Summer (2), A Humphreys and H Pennifer.

Early in the second half Barnet scored their solitary goal, and towards the end W Denham added to Hampstead's total.

A well-known local player in A Humphreys made a first appearance for the Town and greatly improved the forward line. H Pennifer, at centre-forward also played, as usual a splendid game.

Hampstead Town are settling down into a very fine combination and by their recent convincing victories over other prominent senior clubs have justified the aspirations of the club officials.

The crowd at the very fine enclosure in Cricklewood Lane is increasing every week, and so far have had full value for their money.
