Match Report

Hampstead Town's visit to Windsor and Eton in the Athenian League produced a valuable point, and the 3-3 draw was a fair result to a keen and level game. Hampstead, who have yet to suffer defeat in the League, led at the interval by three clear goals, but this was a somewhat flattering position, and not due to any marked superiority, except in finding the net. Nash, the international schoolboy player, who deputised at inside-left for Wise (unavoidably absent), cleverly opened the score. Sweetman added to it with a penalty kick well taken, and just before the interval Young scored.

From the restart the home side played in determined style, and although not having matters all their own way they gradually drew level, but in the closing stages Hampstead were distictly unfortunate not to register the winning goal. Sweetman was again the outstanding player, while Stanley Smith proved the best of the forwards.
