Playing at Claremont Road last night [Thursday] in the last Athenian League match, Golders Green F.C. lost to Bromley by 3-1.
The only score in the first half came from Darby for Bromley, though Evans had a golden opportunity to equalise two minutes before half-time.
Bromley were pressing in the second half, and after ten minutes Darby increased the lead, the third goal coming from Lloyd.
Golders Green then made positional changes, putting Bucci at centre-forward and after five minutes he scored from a beautiful centre by Breagan. For the next twenty minutes Golders Green pressed heavily, but they were unable to penetrate the sound defence.
For Bromley, Wingfield (an old Finchley goalkeeper) played splendidly. Mallett was outstanding at right-back, and of the forwards Darby and Lloyd were a source of worry to the Golders Green defence. Boston (Golders Green right-back) was perhaps the best player on the field.
