In the second round of the London Amateur Senior Cup Wood Green Town were defeated last Saturday by 3 goals to 1. Hampstead would appear to be Wood Green's "bete noir" for on the seven occasions these teams have met in various competitions during the past two seasons, Hampstead have always been the victors.
Hampstead held a lead of three goals at the interval, the whole of the points being scored in excellent style by A Humphreys, their popular centre-forward.
Hampstead were naturally tempted to take matters easily in the second half and from a corner kick well worked for by Wood Green their inside left, Croota, scored.
The veteran Wallace mad a welcome appearance in goal for the visitors, who were more strongly represented than on the occasion of their last visit to the Avenue Ground. Wood Green had the satisfaction of sharing in another excellent gate, local interest in the amateur game having increased considerably of late.
