By virtue of a victory over Woolwich by two goals to one, on the Plumstead ground last Saturday, Hampstead Town go to the head of the Amateur Section of the London League, their record in this competition to date being Played 6, won 4, drawn 2, with, consequently, 10 points out of possible 12. The Town opened the scoring, but soon after a penalty kick was awarded to Woolwich for “hands” by Horbury. The first shot went wide, but the referee ordered it be taken again owing to an infringement, and this time a goal accrued to encourage the home side. Nothing further was added to the score before the interval, but soon after resuming J. Fearn with fine shot, put the Town ahead, and this advantage was retained by them.
