The Town were successful in entering the second round of the English Cup, by virtue of a well-deserved victory over Marlow, at Marlow, by three goals to one.
The Town started off in fine style, the splendid play of the forwards providing many scoring opportunities which, were thwarted by the smartness of the opposing goal-keeper.
Just before the interval, from a capital centre by H. Pike, the initial goal was scored by A. Humphreys.
The second half opened strongly, Marlow equalising from a well-placed corner kick, but from this point onward the Town were easily the better side, and scored three further goals through O. James and A. Humphreys.
