Originally an Athenian League fixture, this match at Chelmsford was played as a friendly.
The home side had a poor lot out and had to submit to a heavy defeat. From start to finish Hampstead were always the better side and only on about half a dozen occasions was their custodian seriously troubled.
On the losing side the only players who came of the contest with any credit were the goalkeeper, Ranson at the back and Day at centre half.
The first goal came to the visitors through one of the home backs putting the ball into his own net and Fraser added a second goal, Hampstead leading at the interval by two goals to nil. In the second half Humphreys and Warren each scored twice for Hampstead who won by six goals to love.
