Match Report

Hampstead Town, being without an Athenian League match, tried conclusions with West Ham United Reserves, now at the head of the London Combination, and won an interesting game by two goals to one. F.L. Burrage and C. Wise scored good goals for Hampstead early in the game, and the only goal for the visitors, who were at full strength, was scored accidentally by the Hampstead right-half, W. Brewer, who netted when endeavouring to clear a dangerous attack. The game was played in the best spirit throughout, a fine exhibition of fast and clever football being thoroughly enjoyed by a big crowd.

HAMPSTEAD [TOWN]'S EASTER PROGRAMME

Hampstead [Town] have supplied their numerous supporters with a fine programme on the home ground for the holiday.

On Easter Saturday afternoon the famous Northern Nomads F.C. will visit the Avenue ground, Child's Hill, kick off 3.30. The Northern Nomads' team includes three amateur internationals and several Lancashire County players, and they will have the celebrated Howard Baker in goal, and J.E. Blair (Everton) at centre-forward. This should prove a fine game for lovers of amateur football.

On Easter Monday morning at 11.15, Sterling Athletic, present leaders of the London League, and an unbeaten side so far this season, will be met at Child's Hill in a London League match.

In the afternoon, at 3.30, Chelmsford will be the visitors in the Athenian League.

P.E. Bruty, Hampstead's goalkeeper, who is still in hospital, is now making satisfactory progress, and for his benefit the club is arranging to play a match early in April, probably with Tufnell Park F.C.

Arrangements are also in progress to wind up the season at Child's Hill with a benefit match in aid of the funds of the St. John's Ambulance Brigade, who have rendered valuable assistance on the ground during the season, the Hampstead General Hospital, and the Hendon Cottage Hospital.
