Hampstead [Town], in their Athenian League match with Enfield (at Enfield), failed to hold on to the substantial interval lead of two goals scored by Travers Day and C. Wise. In the concluding stages of the game Enfield were in great form, and after equalising scored the winning goal within five minutes of the final whistle. Gear, Ruskin and Rawlins scored for Enfield. Just before the conclusion F. Young, who again played brilliantly at inside-right for Hampstead, narrowly missed with a great shot.
Injuries sustained in the Boxing Day encounter prevented Hampstead from fielding their strongest side, although they were well served in goal by G.M. Boxall, a newcomer who is likely to make a big name for himself with the club.
