Match Report

Hampstead Town's fine away win over Cheshunt by one goal to nil has considerably improved their position in the Athenian League table, and they are now among the "possibles" for runners-up at any rate. Young scored the solitary goal from Howell's centre after the interval, and with this exception the defences on both sides held firm.

The Hampstead forwards generally were not in scoring form and Howell and Wise were well cared for by a particularly fine half-back and back. Cheshunt's right winger proved a great worrier, and he initiated many dangerous movements. Lewis Smith, however, played a great game, and he was well covered by Field and Harry at back. Harry was in particularly good form, and made many fine and spectacular clearances.
