Hampstead Town's visit to Bromley in the Athenian League produced a keen and sporting encounter, adjudged by the Kent club supporters to be one of the best seen on their ground this season, and in which the home side thoroughly deserved their victory by four goals to one. The present leaders and last season's winners of the League played in irresistable form, and although the Hampstead defence operated well they could not stave off defeat. Bromley scored twice in each half, and it was not until late in the game that K. Seabrooke got a good goal for Hampstead. Esser played well in goal in the absence of McCracken, and it is gratifying to the club supporters to know that there is other good material coming along in the Hampstead reserve team.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Hampstead are at home in the Athenian League to Sutton United. On Boxing Day they will also entertain at Child's Hill Luton Clarence in the League. Kick off in both matches 2.30pm. The Boxing Day game with Luton has now become an annual event, and it usually produces an interesting game. Hampstead hope to secure maximum points from these games.
