In the return match at Claremont Road on Boxing Day Hampstead defeated Wealdstone by four goals to three. Wealdstone made no change from the side which was defeated on Christmas Day, but Hampstead made changes at half-back. A.W. Mander, the well known Midland Bank captain, played at right-half, and G. Bucci returned to left-half. Freddy Evans repeated his performance of Christmas Day by scoring four more goals.
Hampstead pressed strongly at the start, but after fifteen minutes Wyatt opened the score for Wealdstone. This success was not held for long. From a clever pass by Butland, Evans equalised, and shortly afterwards, from a centre by Lloyd, Evans gave Hampstead the lead. Wealdstone, however, equalised through Bowyer, before half-time.
Soon after the interval Bowyer, kicking the ball out of Smith's hands, scored to put Wealdstone ahead. Hampstead then put on heavy pressure and following a good individual effort Evans equalised, and then Evans scored his fourth and winning goal with a header from a centre by Bramley.
