Match Report

Hampstead F.C. gave a great display at Redhill on Wednesday, where they won an Athenian League game by eight goals to two.

The winners took some time to settle down, but after 20 minutes F.S. Boston, who was given a trial at outside-left, opened the score from a pass by B. Joy, of the Casuals, deputising for Bucci, who was unable to turn out. Minter increased the lead a minute from half-time following good work by Sear and an accurate centre from Boston.

Three goals came within six minutes soon after the change of ends. Evans got through and scored with a good cross-shot, and Minter registered the fourth from a pass by Boston, who obtained the fifth himself from Sear's centre. Redhill had their first look-in soon after this, Lockey obtaining their first goal, but Hampstead were soon back again, and Evans, who was in excellent form, scored twice from passes by Sear and Boston. He was going through again when he was "dropped" just outside the home goal. The penalty kick was taken by Dean, who had the satisfaction of securing the visitors' eighth goal. Redhill broke away two minutes from the end and reduced the lead, but for most of the game they were completely outplayed. Boston, the new player, was a great success.

Bucci returns to the team tomorrow, when Bromley visit Claremont Road.
