Golders Green took both League points at Tufnell Park's expense on Easter Monday, winning by the only goal of the match.
Breagan, Bucci and Pulling were unable to play, and three new players were tried, but none was outstanding. The successes of the afternoon were Stidder in goal, Fisher at right back and Alexander at centre-half.
Tufnell Park had the advantage of a strong wind in the first half and pressed strongly. Early on they were awarded a penalty, but Bustard hit the post with the spot kick and Fisher cleared. After about half an hour's play Fisher, taking a free kick, placed the ball well for Stroud to head into the net.
In the second half the Green did most of the attacking. Stroud and Holnes had changed places, and Desborough had a busy time, but the Green's forward play was ragged. Stroud, a potential scorer always, got very few passes. The ball was held too close when first-time kicking must have produced results.
