Golders Green lost to Barnet - two to one - in the London Senior Cup game at Barnet on Saturday [December 12].
The Green, in an effort to strengthen their attack, made some dangerous experiments in their forward line which weakened rather than strengthened the side. The only change which resulted in improvement was the inclusion of Bucci at right half. After a goalless first half, in which Barnet, playing down the slope, exercised strong pressure at times, the home side were awarded a penalty early in the second period. Ten minutes later Cochrane put Pulling through beautifully, and as Pinkerton advanced, the centre forward shot home to give the Green the lead.
Barnet equalised after 20 minutes when, from close in, Saw converted a square pass by Reilly. Ten minutes later Elmer broke through and centred well for Saw to score the winning goal.
