GOLDERS GREEN AND PINNER TO REPLAY
[NOTE: The last clause of the first paragraph of the report is at variance with the final paragragh of the report and also with the report headline above. A more accurate ending of the first paragraph would be:
"and were losing by one goal to nil during extra time when the match was abandoned owing to bad light."
A replay of this match took place at Pinner on December 19.]
Golders Green were far below form in their attack when they met Pinner in the second round of the Middlsex Senior Cup at Claremont Road on Saturday, and were beaten by one goal to nil after extra time [this is incorrect - see note above.]
They had sufficient scoring chances to have enabled them to win comfortably, and for the greater part of the game held the visitors penned in their own half. While due credit must be given for a great display by Killick in Pinner's goal, the Green's forwards were to blame.
The Golders Green defence was sound, and played well, especially towards the close, when Pinner began to assert themselves.
Extra time started in the gathering gloom, and Walker scored for Pinner. Though he appeared to use his hands the goal was allowed.
In the last stage of extra time it became so dark that the game was abandoned. The replay will take place at Pinner, probably on December 19.
