What a frustrating game it was at Enfield last Saturday. Nobody can deny, not even Enfield's most ardent fans, that we had enough chances to win, but Enfield goalie Malcolm Mitchell somehow managed to save everything fired at him.
One second half blockbuster from David Hyde was brilliantly intercepted with a flying dive. Said a disappointed David afterwards: "I don't know how he managed to hold oit, let alone get to it."
Enfield, who included four of our old players in Peter Terry, Jeff Harris, Roy Thomas and Terry Howard, poached both vital points with a second half goal headed by inside right Billy Broomfield, and extended their run of not being beaten at home by an amateur team to 51. What a fantastic record.
We still have a chance of revenge. We have to meet Enfield in the final of the London Senior Cup and we also have a return League encounter.
