We reached the final of the London Senior Cup for the fourth time, and we have still yet to win what is rated the second most important Amateur Trophy.
But we had a couple of pre-match scares before overcoming Kingstonian at Hounslow. Held up in a traffic jam, Jimmy Quail and Roy Sleap arrived too late to play. Fortunately we had Maurice Williams and Fred Pudney standing by as reserves.
After Amateur Cup semi-finalists Kingstonian had taken a two-goal lead through McCormack, our lads put on a barnstorming display to win 4-2 with a goal by Tony Knox and a splendid hat-trick by David Hyde.
