We beat our friends from Dulwich Hamlet 6-0 in the opening game of our Isthmian League programme.

The opening half of the game was a story of near misses until Peter Slade gave us a 1-0 interval lead.

It was a different story after the resumption, however, with Jimmy Quail making it No.2 after two minutes, and John Payne making it No. 3 a minute later.

From then on it was Hendon all the way, David Hyde after 22 minutes, Jimmy Quail after 25 minutes and David Hyde again in the 39th minute with the best goal of the game.

David collected on the half-way line, beat three defenders and put his left foot shot into the corner. I am sure we will see many more goals like that one from him before the season is much older
