It was a hard tussle at St Albans to enable us to take a point from the game. Yet but for a penalty in the last few seconds against Geoff Riddy we would have taken both points.

With Bobby Cantwell and Jimmy Quail unavailable, Bobby Ellison and Laurie Churchill stepped in.

St Albans scored first and held the lead for a long time. Late in the second half Peter Slade headed the equaliser and Danny Lakey gave us the lead a few minutes later.

With only seconds to go came the penalty and McDonald made no mistake with the kick to rescue a point for St Albans.
