Our lads made hard work in taking two points from Tooting and for once the team seemed to lack the fire to which we have become accustomed.
This can no doubt be attributed to the efforts our boys put into their display in defeating the much fancied Kingstonian team two days earlier.
Tooting appeared to be much quicker to the ball and it came as no surprise when Ken Jelly gave them the lead with a picture book goal as the result of a flying header from a right wing cross.
Within four minutes we were on terms again when full back Fillery headed into his own goal. This put new life into the team and a typical Hyde drive through a crowd of players gave us the points and our third win within a week.
Congratulations to Keith Mills, the former Carshalton and Wimbledon player, on his debut with us. We feel sure he will do well in the better class of football he can expect from our lads.
