This was not one of our best performances, no doubt due to the poor resistance put up by the home side.

Before their best gate of the season the Maidstone defence had no answer to the methodical play of our boys, even though we appeared to be strolling through the game.

Goals came through Danny Lakey and Jimmy Quail before Fred Pudney scored a good third goal just before the interval.

Our lads held back in the second half allowing Maidstone to have more of the game and although they reduced the arrears through a headed goal from their centre-forward there was never any danger of our losing the game.
