Hendon continued their pre-season programme with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Bedfont Green, who are newly promoted to the Southern League. There was one new trialist in the line-up in the form of Matt O'Brien, a former QPR youth team midfielder. Meanwhile, in the Bedfont Green squad was former Greens skipper Jon-Barrie Bates.
The opening goal came in the 11th minute when Peter Dean scored on the turn having been superbly set up by Wayne O'Sullivan. Dean then fired a free kick narrowly wide a few minutes later, before Harry Hunt had a shot well saved at point blank range.
Bedfont's best chance of the game came in the 35th minute when Bates hit an excellent strike from distance that forced Berkley Lawrencin into an important save.
Once again the Greens made 10 outfield substitutions at half-time, and within 12 minutes of the restart the lead had been doubled. Glenn Garner received the ball on the edge of the area, beat his marker and fired the ball home at the near post.
Six minutes later it was 3-0 when Yacine Hamada scored with a lovely curling shot, and with twenty minutes to go Hamada struck again from close range after his earlier shot had rebounded off the post.
The final goal came three minutes from time when Brian Haule bundled the ball home.
