Our supporters team have taken the plunge and joined the IFA, a structure that supports Supporters Team football. This will bring us opportunities to play teams from other leagues. One of the first teams to welcome us as new members were West Ham who have already offered to play us, possibly on 27th November when we are due to visit Aveley. Another club who have approached us are Olympiakos!

In an effort to gauge the current strength of feeling for supporters games, Eddie Edwards is canvassing for people’s opinions, whether or not you have played for our supporters team in the past.

Eddie believes that this is an ideal way to promote the name of Hendon FC, so that we get good recognition by the other teams in the IFA. If we are able to play some home games, we can get the bonus of additional spectators turning up for the main game. When we played Maidstone in April 2009, they brought along 20 players & supporters who all came to our game for food, drink and stayed for the match.

This has the potential for bringing new support to the club, which is an added reason to be involved. It could be a good selling point for future regulars.

If you have played for the supporters team in the past, or are interested in playing for the team in the future, please email Eddie Edwards on eddieedd@hendonfc.net with answers to the following questions.

Do you see yourself playing Supporters Team football this season?
Can you commit to playing once a month on a Saturday morning?
Are you interested in playing 60 minute son a midweek evening, 8-a-side?
Are you happy to pay £5 + per game to play (to cover pitch hire and kit washing)?
Would you bring a friend who might be interested in playing and potentially supporting Hendon FC?
Are you happy that we broaden the teams we play outside of the Ryman Premier?

Eddie would also be interested in any other thoughts you may have with regard to supporters football.

When it comes to the annual first team v supporters game, it is likely that priority will be given to those supporters who have made regular appearances for the supporters team during the season.
