Skipper Joe White has decided to exercise a clause in his contract and has been released from the club following the departure of Lee Allinson last week.
Joe rejoined the club in January 2020 and scored nine goals in as many appearances before COVID curtailed the season. This after he enjoyed a loan spell in 2017/18 under Gary McCann.
Joe went on to be top goalscorer in 2021/22 and 2022/23 with 18 and 17 goals respectively, before moving into a midfield role last season, when he still scored 14 times.
He leaves the club having scored 73 goals in total in 174 appearances.
We'd like to thank Joe for his tireless efforts for the club over the past five years which included the first goal at Oldham in January, and wish him every success for his future career.
