We are saddened to learn of the passing of long-term Hendon supporter John Hodson following a short illness.
John, who was a keen helper on matchdays, often found in the car park at Silver Jubilee Park, or manning gates and retrieving balls at Earlsmead and Vale Farm, was a much-loved member of the Supporters Association committee. He also combined his tireless work with the Royal British Legion with his love for Hendon Football Club, selling poppies and lapel badges in the lead up to Remembrance Day over many years.
John's attendance at matches was curtailed in recent years as he cared for his wife, and he sadly fell ill a few months ago after suffering a stroke. Despite recovering enough to return home a couple of weeks ago, John sadly lost his battle this week.
The thoughts and condolences of everyone connected to Hendon Football Club go out to John's family, friends, and everyone that enjoyed his company at this sad time.
