Look ahead to Bracknell

Tomorrow sees us kick-off our pre-season campaign with a visit to Isthmian League Division 1 South Central side Bracknell Town.

The Robins were in 6th place in the table when the season was drawn to a conclusion and looked well placed for a strong play-off push during the run-in. Former Wealdstone manager Bobby Wilkinson was appointed mid-season on a 5-year contract and has been busy building his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Bracknell, of course, were the club we signed Chris Grace from at the tail-end of the 2018/9 season and he became a firm favourite with supporters before leaving just after Lee Allinson's arrival due to travel complexities. One familiar face likely to be involved for the Robins tomorrow is that of Romario Jonas, who spent 18-months with us after joining the club in July 2018. He left us for Bracknell midway through last season and was confirmed as part of their squad for this one during the summer.

We have met Bracknell just once in competitive matches, in an Isthmian League Cup tie during the 2003/4 season. It proved to be a bit of a thriller with Adam Crittenden's hat-trick for our opponents proving critical in a 4-3 defeat for the Greens. Dale Binns, Eugene Ofori and an own goal from Nick Hutt were the scorers for the Greens.

The two sides last met in a friendly match in July 2009 during a pre-season tournament hosted by Hillingdon Borough. In a 30-minute each way fixture strikes from Kevin Maclaren, Harry Hunt (2), Marc Leach, James Bent and Glenn Garner secured a 6-0 win for the Greens.

Once again a reminder that tomorrow's match is behind closed doors, however we will be able to bring you live updates via the club's Twitter page throughout the afternoon.
